Florideah Swampfest 2020: It’s Pure BMX
Ah yes, Florideah Swampfest. This event has only been around for a few years and it has grown in size every year. I’m glad I have been able to attend the last couple years to experience this insane event.
Swampfest has chaos from start to finish, it’s just pure BMX if you ask me. Hand built ramps from sketchy materials, rails, swamps, big air and obstacle courses. It’s just a damn good time. Trey Jones is a master at making ramps out of scraps and Swampfest is nothing short of a bmx engineering masterpiece if I am honest.
The Insanity
In 2019, they built a giant loop from wooden pallets. Which, if you made it around that you went into an open loop shortly after. There was a horizontal loop from scrap wood…yes, horizontal. I was actually pretty shocked that some one got around it as fast as they did.
It is stuff like this that makes the event so unique and so insane. I can pretty confidently guarantee that you won’t see jumps and ramps like this at any other event. If there are, you can bet Trey had a hand in it.
2020 Swampfest Is Coming
If you live in Florida. Actually, hell, if you don’t! If you love BMX and action sports, you’ve gotta make it out to Swampfest 2020. Be sure to note that the event has moved locations this year to Spyder MX in Wildwood, FL. Personally, I can’t wait to see what this year holds, what type of obstacles they have. I have been to this place several times and it’s got a lot of opportunity.
